A view of Guildford Town Centre looking up the High Street towards the clock Tower. This view was taken during an early spring afternoon and it was quite bustling. I was there with the Surrey Hills Plein Air Painters.
This Aqua and Blue Painting/drawing is a unique style of fine art mixed media work of my own devising.
I use Brush and dip pen Ink/my own photography/digital media/fine art paper to create this work.
This has been created in a range of inks on specialist Two Rivers hand pressed 300GSM paper. I'm aiming for a look that is contemporary but harks back to the etching prints of the 1800's with the image part hand drawn and part transfer in an etching style. Some of the etching gets lightly rubbed away in the process to deliberately create a aged quality.
I create the background ink study first and then looking at the abstract I decide on how best to incorporate the scene into the spaces available. Rather like looking at clouds, I let the composition of the abstract dictate the outcome. The image is transferred and the fine work of details in ink continues.
Each piece is completely unique. It is possible however to create other colour ways.
This comes in a mount. I'm very careful with packaging and have never had a problem.
