My name is Hannah Bruce. I am a professional and award winning artist from Woking, Surrey, England. With a studio space at Lansbury Business Estate.

Since 2002, I have been creating original artwork from my studio in a range of mediums, primarily oils, resin, ink and pastels and I sell my work all over the world. If you are interested in commissioning me to create something specifically for you then please do let me know.

| 2023 | Cass Art Prize Winner During the Summer of 2023 I enter a competition with Cass Art for 'Alizarin Crimson'. I won this prize for my piece 'Roasted Tomatoes' which features a whole lot of reds. Really thrilled to win this. |

| 2023 | London Fashion Week Featured Artist I was so delighted to have my kingfisher art featured at London Fashion week with VZ Perfection fashion Collection. What a life experience. She made each outfit look stunning with the Kingfisher designs in Beaded embellishments and prints on the fabric. |

| 2023 | Third Prize at Art in the Open Ireland In Summer of 2023 I attended Europes largest plein air painting event in Wexford Ireland. With 200 Artists taking part and many of them professionals from all over the world - in fact from 19 countries. I managed to win a bronze award. For which I'm absolutely thrilled. For a painting created at Ballymore Demense and called Brigands Cave. |

| 2023 | Sworder Prize Winner - Norfolk Plein Air Paint out Painting for ten days all over the beautiful county of Norfolk. With the Paint out Norfolk organised event. 145 Artists with 700 paintings and I won a prize for my painting of the Beach Huts as Well on Sea. Was a wonderful surprise. |

Awarded for my work engaging and helping others in the art world and through sales of their work locally. Creating and building a network of creatives and organising pop up shops for us to sell our items. Also work with in my network and for my local art societies. |

| 2018 | Art in the Open - Wexford - Timed paint out prize winner. There was a two hour paint out in Wexford for the Open Art event. And I won a prize for my ink splatter work of nine views of the Bull ring. It sold straight away. |

| 2017 | Highly Commended - Woking Art Society Judges award The judges choose three top artists, one of whom gets the judges prize and the other two get highly commended. This was won during the Societies showcase Autumn Exhibition at the Lightbox Gallery in Woking. |

| 2016 | 3rd Prize for the Wexford Open Air painting competition 79 Artists took to the streets of Wexford for a two hour paint off. I came third behind two very prominent Plein Air painters and was delighted. A brilliant Accolade and prize awarded by Spectrum Art Shop. |

| 2016 | Shortlisted for Surrey Artist of the Year with Open Studios Seven artists were selected by the public for show at New Ashgate Gallery in Farnham. Then the exhibition was open to public vote again and finally to judging of the top three. I was thrilled to be part of the whole thing and sold a painting to boot. |

| 2015 | Public Vote - A Brush with the Broads Live Painting event Great Yarmouth Two hours quick draw painting competition was held in Great Yarmouth, as part of the Brush with the Broads Plein Air painting event this September. I won the public vote for the best painting out of 25 amateur and professional painters taking part. |

| 2015 | Public Vote - Woking Society of Arts Autumn Exhibition at the Lightbox Art Gallery. This week long exhibition was the selection of the best works from the whole Art Society. I was awarded this after a week long public vote. |
Background
Prior to my work as a professional artist from (2014), I was a Surrey based teacher of Art & Design for over 15 years. I read Fine Art & English at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and subsequently completed by Postgraduate Certificate in Education at the University of Cambridge. I have been chairperson of the Woking Art Society for three years (2015-2018) and continue to operate on the committee creating our exhibitions and pop up shop events every year. I really enjoy painting outdoors and do so with the Surrey Hills Plein Air Painters (for whom I have organised one year of locations and done the social media), at Norfolk and Norwich Paint Outs, Cambridge Paint Out, A Brush with the Broads, Art in the Open Ireland, London Plein Air Warriors and occasionally with the Wapping group and Royal Oil Institute friends. I've demonstrate for five or more years with Surrey Contemporary Art Fairs. In recent months I have set up 'Woking Makers' facebook page to encourage collaboration on local events amongst local makers. I look forward to joining and becoming an active member of Surrey Hills Enterprises. And I've been an active member of the Family Network West Surrey since its inception, winning Business Networker of the Year at a National awards recognition event in Birmingham. What can I say... I'm a very social person.
