I've created this piece in response to the Friends of the Earth, Great British Bee count exhibition with Artfinder. I wanted to create a piece that encompassed a range of British bees, showing them fading away at the top. I've used a long composition with lovely clover flowers at the bottom to represent the healthy bee environments and the symbolic honeycomb feature to really make it show as representational of the theme. Each bee is a different sort and some are solitary bees.
This painting is on a shallow linen canvas that comes out from the back of the frame. It sits 9cm from the wall when put up. (The frame has been sat against another frame and some small marks have been made by the others catches. However it remain white and this is only noticeable on very close inspection. The framed photo is taken with the small marks.)
