I've always been very drawn to the creation of art that shows repeated forms of the same item, and I particularly enjoy working with food. It's often so luscious, allowing me to experiment with translucent layers of oil paint, capturing all that juiciness. I painted this group of cherries with reference to both real cherries and a compositional photograph, but I also deliberately enhanced the red tones to attract attention and make the cherries even more appealing. I had painted the stalks in green but have since decided that that wasn't working and covered them in Gold Leaf and outlined in gold too. This has worked very effectively to make this a super striking statement piece. The canvas is deep edged and won't need framing, it is ready to hang.
Much care and attention is taken in packaging my work for both national and international delivery. This item will be packaged firstly with an acid-free tissue paper to ensure a protective layer and is then sealed in clear plastic cellophane. All corners are protected with cardboard corner protectors. It is then finished with a triple wrapping of bubble wrap with two cardboard sheets and placed into another cardboard covering. So far I've never had a problem posting abroad on a regular basis.
