We have a new Plein Air painting group we've collectively formed and went to Shere Village on Friday December 9th. It was a lovely day and the village looked beautiful. This painting was created on location and got lots of admirers both young and old. Some little four year olds were being taught road skills and had a look at what I was doing. Tristan who runs the village website came for a chat and the lady from the Co op even gave me a cuppa! What a lovely community. I have to say the toilets are particularly striking as buildings go.
I also met the writer Paul Moorcraft
of the Book The Anchoress of Shere , 2003
He used to live in the building at the end of the street in the scene.
He introduced me to Roz Wilson - a very well known artist in the Village and world wide.
All in all a great and successful day out.
I used a traditional nib based pen and high quality lightfast inks on hand-made watercolour paper with an abstracted background.
This has been painted in Acrylic inks on specialist Two Rivers hand pressed 300GSM paper.
Much care and attention is taken in packaging my work for both national and international delivery. This item will be packaged firstly with an acid-free tissue paper to ensure a protective layer and is then sealed in clear plastic cellophane. All corners are protected with cardboard corner protectors. It is then finished with a triple wrapping of bubble wrap with two cardboard sheets on either side and placed into another cardboard covering.
