This is a painting created while working on location en Plein. It was a very cold later December morning just after Christmas. There was a professional bird photographer there too and he can be seen very tiny in the picture focusing on the Peregrine Falcons.
In terms of my application of oil colour, I predominantly use a mixture of both Winsor & Newton Griffin Alkyd and Melanie Cambridge Oils. If a higher pigment is still required I use Michael Harding Oils. I apply 1 layer of oil colour for outdoor work and some retouching in the studio but as little as possible.
You can see me making this painting in my Hannah Bruce Art Facebook page. Dec 2016.
It is painted on board and will safely travel by post very easily.
